Methuen, Mass.—May 13, 2008—Johnson Medtech, the medical products group of Johnson Electric, one of the world’s largest providers of motion actuators, today announced its global network of Medical Innovation Centers. Johnson Medtech’s network of Medical Innovation Centers is comprised of eight locations for design excellence throughout the world.
The facilities feature a full range of design and rapid prototyping services for medical device subsystems and components to enable companies to get products to market by up to 50 percent faster. Customers also benefit from the unmatched manufacturing capabilities of Johnson City, a five-million square foot facility in China with over 30,000 employees.

At each Medical Innovation Center, Johnson Medtech provides dedicated local sales and technical support experts who work collaboratively with customers’ design teams to develop their applications. Johnson Medtech’s teams respond to customer requirements quickly by networking their knowledge across the global Johnson Electric organization, leveraging the 24/7 capabilities of its global staff to increase efficiency and streamline application development and rapid prototyping. Its engineers focus on designing for manufacturability and reliability, and bringing the most cost-effective solutions to customers. Medical Innovation Centers also feature the latest design and CAD tools available to simulate and analyze product performance. Rapid prototyping capability is also available. As a result, development cycles are lessened as prototypes are delivered quickly.
