The Johnson Electric Production System has evolved from many years of high volume manufacturing experience. Using innovative production engineering techniques to design balanced processes, the Johnson Electric Production System (JEPS) maximizes efficiency and quality, optimizes space and reduces waste. The JEPS for each product is created in parallel with R&D to create a seamless flow from design to production, resulting in defect free and on time start up of manufacturing.

Engineering proximity with customers enhances collaboration and the creation of product differentiation. Local technical and customer support throughout the world increases the quality of communication, resulting in on-time project completion, scheduling flexibility and assurance of supply.

R&D Engineering

Our Innovation Centers throughout the world enable close collaboration with customers and are situated in key industrial locations in the following countries: Hong Kong and China (3); USA (3); Germany(2); Switzerland; Italy, Israel, Japan and the UK.

Within the Innovation Centers, design teams are organized into engineering centers of competence (ECC) based on specific technology. Examples of technology focus within the Industry Products Group are Microswitches, DC Motors, Electronically commutated motors, High Voltage DC Motors, AC Motors, solenoids, stepper motors and piezo actuators. Within the Automotive Products Group, examples of technology focus include Microswitches, engine cooling fan modules, and actuators for HVAC, seats, engine management, transmission, brakes, adaptive lighting, window lift, door locks and mirrors.

The Innovation Centers deploy a flow engineering process to ensure efficient and on-time completion of customer design projects. The design teams utilize a JE Productizing Process to create differentiation in product platforms addressing application specific QFD. These platforms can then be customized to meet unique customer requirements. The Innovation Center teams work closely with application experts within the Automotive and Industry Product Groups to ensure that market specific knowledge is constantly being reflected in emerging product platforms.
