Electronic Throttle Control

Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) is a critical application related to vehicle fuel economy, emissions and drivability. For ETC applications, the micro motors must have high power density to provide sufficient torque under all engine conditions. The reliable performance and durability of the electric motors are a critical element in engine performance.  The motors are designed for high dynamic response and reliable operation for under-the-hood applications. The motors can tolerate temperatures up to 150°C and vibration levels of 50g in all directions. Johnson Electric ETC motors are also differentiated by high torque density that enabling more torque to be delivered from smaller and lower weight packages, as well as low cogging torque and low inertia to allow fast response.  Johnson Electric’s ETC motors are designed with high performance ferrite magnets to avoid using rare earth material.
