Actuators have been developed to power the motion of headlamp modules to implement this range of functionality. The platform is designed to have long life and high durability in the operating environment of high shock, vibration and temperature.
These actuator platforms are custom engineered to deliver the exact motion requirements to match the headlamp configuration while minimizing weight, space and noise. Depending on the degree of functionality and weight of the headlamp module, the radial force resistance is a critical parameter of the actuator design to ensure high shock resistance. Beam stability is another critical requirement, which is managed by tight control of axial play over the lifetime of the actuator to guarantee maximal accuracy.
