Johnson Electric provides global manufacturers of delivery and utility trucks with door locks that increase the driver's speed of small package delivery. Parcel delivery vehicles in the past had only the rear vehicle door that drivers could use to access their cargo. Today's vehicles have an intermediate door accessible from the driver's seat. This door is electrically operated with a key fob that, when activated, operates a Ledex brand solenoid that allows the sliding door to open. The driver can reach the smaller packages without having to get out of the vehicle or open the large back door. Application specific Ledex solenoid products provide optimized actuation speed and force profiles to quickly allow the intermediate door to open and to hold it securely locked while the vehicle is in transit, protecting the driver from moving packages.
Johnson Electric provides locking solutions for many applications including speciality vehicles. Driver safety and package security are enhanced through the use of our high speed rotary and linear solenoid devices. For package delivery vehicles, a driver can lock and unlock the cargo area storage door from inside the cabin, accessing small packages without having to go to the back of the vehicle. Packages are also secured from moving into the cabin as the compartment door is securely locked closed while the vehicle is in transit. Our high force solenoid solutions are also used to lock heavier rear access doors, keeping cargo secure from theft or loss.
